Who Are We And What Are We Doing?
Or Bertie, Oscar and Arthur - three of my four boys (Percy was yet to be born) and key inspiration in development of the sustainably produced, enduring, ethically sourced and traditionally made clothes and accessories that are the foundations of boa. I have developed boa for all out there who would like a choice in how their children’s clothes are made and the impact that they have on our world. Boa’s clothes are 100% designed and made in the UK, using traditional methods, wool woven on UK shores and the finest Irish linens to make beautiful children’s clothing that you’ll want to share and your children will want to wear.
Driven by multiple forces - a chance meeting of a fantastic smallholder who gave up the rat race to spin rare breed sheep wool; a micro mill in Derbyshire making tweed from their own flock and my frustrating search for high quality traditional children’s clothing that can be handed down, and down, and down again, alongside a strong desire to support both UK manufacturing and make something that feels homely, but never homespun, boa is soon to take its first breath. Building on my 20+ years of business experience and a lifetime of hobby dressmaking I am finally making the leap into something that I feel all consumers should play a part in-supporting UK manufacturing and developing the next generation of shoppers to demand quality, sustainability and style in all that they buy.
I am so very excited to launch our first mini collection this Spring and sincerely hope you will love it as much as I have loved making it and my boys have loved testing it out. If you’d like to say ‘hello’, to give us some feedback, are keen to work with us or have some exciting ideas to share, I would truly love to hear from you.
